Education
I graduated Skagit Valley Community College in 2012 with a transfer degree in Art. I concluded studies with a 3.3 GPA. This GPA does not reflect my capabilities, however. I am currently saving to finish off my college degree in English.
Experience
I have had only a short period of time tutoring my senior year of High School, however I am now interested in growing through teaching others what I have learned. I believe tutoring is a tool people need to grasp more often, as most students can't glean all that they can from the short sessions in the classroom. Every person has a different way of learning, and it's up to tutors: the "custom teachers," to meet that need for a different teaching method. I am a highly visual/hands on learner, and knowing that helped me through my 2 years at college. I am an excellent writer, both creatively and mechanically. I received a B in English 101 (partly due to a "lazy phase" I was going through at the time, but later amended), and an A in advanced composition research. I have received mostly A's on finals/projects which were heavy on writing and content. I have great interest in ancient-renaissance history and have a few fantastic books on everything from the cultivation of Mesopotamia to Napoleon's tragic rise to power. I feel most confident in my abilities with writing/reading, computer software & basic computer use (typing, internet, buying/selling online, etc), finance comprehension, organization skills, and study skills. I am also avid about health and wellness, which includes: diet/intake, disease prevention, the right activity level for the desired results, and more. I am willing to teach Algebra and Trigonometry. Terms: I will give you a refund for the first day if you are not satisfied with my visit.
