Hobbies

As of 2015, I'm overhauling a 1984 Winnebago, taking care of 3 dogs, making crafts to sell on Etsy, and, of course, reading and writing. My writing (fiction, nonfiction, poetry) has been published in several magazines and newspapers over the years. Right now, I'm working on a book about dogs. I once made a Kickstarter-funded documentary film that was shown at a film festival, and I self-published a children's book. I've also been making hobby websites since 1996 or so. My friend Suzanne and I made one for Caribou Coffee before it had its own - that was a very long time ago. The director of marketing told us it was okay to leave it up even though Caribou was going to make one, just so long as long as we made sure to label it "unofficial" and link to the official one, which was a pretty cool experience as a high schooler. Another memory from high school: I was a member of the state-champion math team, but when I got to college, I failed Calculus II. Twice. So I know what it's like to succeed, and I also know what it's like to struggle in school. I'll try my best to relate to your child's (or your own) individual experience.
